Hildesheim. Matt's journal: Had an agonizing trip to Hildesheim. Planning to take Hwy14, we had the route all mapped out perfectly from Leipzig. This was to be a relatively short trip compared to the others - only 3 hours or so. We were driving along, and then, the highway just ended. Not even paved. All the traffic had no choice but to take the 2 lane detour through all these small towns. There was tons of traffic, and we got stuck behind this semi-truck, so we couldn't see anything. Smushed in the van and crawling along with a giant truck blocking your view is

bad, but when you have to go to the bathroom on top of it, it's really bad... We pull up to the Kulturfabrik, and I like the place immediately. A woody, homey feeling bar on the first floor, and a bar with a stage upstairs. There was even a freight elevator, which was a relief. The upstairs bar had lots of metal and brick, and the front of the bar was make out of what looked like an old fence, almost giving you the feeling you were outside.
Yet another great meal here, cooked in their own kitchen. Damn we're getting spoiled!
